Apa itu Slate?
Ison Slate adalah workspace riset yang menghasilkan laporan komprehensif dengan sitasi dari sumber web dan akademis. Setiap klaim didasarkan pada sumber yang dapat diverifikasi, sehingga Anda dapat menelusuri kembali ke paper aslinya, bukan sekadar menerima output begitu saja.
Untuk topik akademik, laporan menarik langsung dari jurnal terindeks — arXiv, PubMed, OpenAlex, CrossRef, hingga jurnal Indonesia via Garuda & SINTA — sehingga buktinya berbasis jurnal, bukan sekadar hasil pencarian web umum. Sitasi mengarah ke daftar pustaka bernomor lengkap dengan DOI bila tersedia.
Cocok untuk: tinjauan pustaka skripsi, tesis, atau disertasi; riset awal sebelum penyusunan proposal; eksplorasi topik baru; sintesis multi-paper; analisis pasar; serta kajian kebijakan.
Catatan. Slate adalah alat bantu riset, bukan pengganti analisis kritis. Selalu verifikasi klaim utama terhadap sumber yang dikutip sebelum digunakan dalam publikasi atau pengambilan keputusan.
Mulai Riset
Di halaman utama, ketik topik atau pertanyaan riset Anda. Semakin spesifik, semakin baik hasilnya. Contoh: "Dampak regulasi fintech P2P lending terhadap inklusi keuangan di Indonesia 2020-2025"
Konfigurasi riset Anda:
- Depth - Standard (2-4 menit) atau Deep (3-5 menit, lebih detail)

Upload PDF, paste URL, atau gunakan tombol Academic Search untuk mencari paper dari arXiv, PubMed, dan Semantic Scholar. Sumber yang Anda tambahkan akan diprioritaskan dalam laporan.

Untuk sumber jurnal, entri bibliografi menampilkan nama jurnal + DOI (mis. https://doi.org/10.xxxx) agar langsung dapat ditelusuri dan disalin ke daftar pustaka. Seluruh sumber yang dikutip muncul di daftar bernomor yang selaras dengan nomor [N] di teks.
Reading Modes
Tiga mode tampilan di header: Default (3-panel: outline + laporan + bibliografi), Focus (teks saja, distraksi minimum), Dense (kompak untuk review cepat).
Concept Map
Setiap laporan secara otomatis dilengkapi concept map - diagram mind-map yang memvisualisasikan hubungan antar konsep utama dalam laporan.
- Toggle - klik tombol Concept Map di header laporan untuk membuka atau menutup panel.
- Pan dan zoom - drag untuk menggeser, scroll untuk memperbesar/memperkecil. Cocok untuk diagram berukuran besar.
- Download SVG - tombol download menyimpan versi vector yang dapat digunakan pada slide presentasi atau poster.
Concept map berguna untuk melihat struktur menyeluruh sebelum membaca detail, atau untuk mempresentasikan hasil riset kepada pembimbing maupun tim.
Slate Notebook
Mode terpisah di slate.isonai.net/notebook. Upload PDF Anda sendiri (paper, draft, materi kuliah, slide), Slate mengekstrak teks dan gambar, lalu Anda dapat melakukan tanya jawab melalui chat dengan jawaban yang menyitasi halaman spesifik dari sumber yang Anda unggah.
- Upload - drag-drop PDF hingga 50 MB. Slate mengekstrak teks dan figur dalam waktu sekitar 15 detik.
- Chat - jawaban streaming; klik citation chip [1] untuk melihat preview sumber.
- Cross-modal - query teks Anda juga mencari gambar atau diagram pada paper yang diunggah.
- Privasi - file disimpan terisolasi per pengguna, terhubung hanya ke notebook Anda.
Perbedaan dengan riset utama: Notebook tidak melakukan pencarian paper baru di internet. Notebook hanya menjawab berdasarkan PDF yang Anda unggah. Cocok untuk meninjau ulang materi yang sudah Anda miliki, atau untuk diskusi mendalam mengenai satu paper tertentu.
Library & History
Seluruh riset yang pernah Anda jalankan tersimpan secara otomatis di Library. Akses melalui menu kiri.
- Search - kotak pencarian di bagian atas Library mencari berdasarkan judul dan isi laporan.
- Filter - menyaring berdasarkan Collection.
- Deep link - setiap laporan memiliki URL permanen dengan format
/research/r_xxxxx. Dapat di-bookmark atau dibagikan langsung melalui URL. - Perhatian - jangan tutup tab saat riset sedang berjalan. Jika terjadi error, output parsial tersimpan otomatis ke Library.

Format Export
- Export .md - Markdown dengan sitasi dan bibliografi, untuk publikasi di blog, Notion, atau Obsidian.
- Export .pdf - PDF terformat untuk dicetak atau diserahkan sebagai submission.
- Export .bib - BibTeX untuk LaTeX, Overleaf, Zotero, atau Mendeley.
- Copy - menyalin laporan ke clipboard dalam format Markdown.
Collections
Organisasikan riset Anda ke dalam koleksi (folder). Buat koleksi baru melalui halaman Library atau tetapkan dari header laporan. Setiap koleksi dapat diberi nama dan warna. Contoh: "Skripsi Bab 2", "Riset Pasar 2026", atau "Reading List".
Share Link
Klik tombol Share di header laporan untuk membuat tautan publik read-only. Siapapun dengan tautan tersebut dapat membaca laporan tanpa perlu login. Klik tombol yang sama untuk mencabut akses kapan saja. Tautan dilengkapi rate-limit untuk mencegah penyalahgunaan.

Tombol Academic Search mencari paralel dari 10 indeks ilmiah:
- OpenAlex - 250 juta+ karya ilmiah, semua disiplin (gratis, open)
- PubMed dan Europe PMC - Biomedis, kedokteran, life sciences (Europe PMC mencakup preprints dan theses)
- arXiv - Fisika, CS, matematika, AI (preprint)
- Semantic Scholar - Multidisiplin, ranked by citation count
- CrossRef - Jurnal peer-reviewed via DOI
- DOAJ - Agregator jurnal open access
- BASE - 240 juta+ dokumen dari repository institusi (kuat untuk konten Indonesia)
- Garuda - Garba Rujukan Digital Kemdiktisaintek, 5,1 juta+ artikel akademik Indonesia (jurnal lokal tanpa DOI)
- BPS - Statistik resmi Indonesia (Badan Pusat Statistik)
Pool hasil pencarian dilewatkan melalui reranker neural - paper diurutkan ulang berdasarkan relevansi terhadap topik, dan item dengan skor sangat rendah (di bawah 1%) otomatis disembunyikan supaya hasil yang tampil bener-bener related. Pilih kedalaman: Quick (1 query, sekitar 25 sumber masuk laporan), Standard (3 sub-query, sekitar 40 sumber), atau Deep (5 sub-query, sekitar 60 sumber, cakupan maksimal).
Kalau pertanyaan Anda ditulis santai atau dalam Bahasa Indonesia, Slate juga ikut mencari dengan frasa akademiknya - chip "Mencari:" di atas hasil menunjukkan frasa yang dipakai. Query asli Anda tetap selalu dicari apa adanya. Kalau hasil terasa melenceng, lihat chip itu: di situ kelihatan bagaimana Slate membaca pertanyaan Anda - tulis ulang pertanyaannya bila interpretasinya meleset.
Consensus Meter & Summarize Evidence
Tiap kali Anda menjalankan Academic Search, Slate otomatis menganalisis 17 paper teratas dan menampilkan Consensus Meter di atas daftar hasil. Setiap paper diberi label sikap terhadap pertanyaan Anda:
- Supports — temuan paper menguatkan klaim atau efek yang ditanyakan.
- Refutes — temuan paper melemahkan klaim atau tidak menemukan efek.
- Mixed — hasil bergantung pada kondisi, dosis, subkelompok, atau konteks.
- Not relevant — paper berada di topik berbeda dan tidak memberi bukti untuk pertanyaan.
Hover badge pada tiap kartu untuk melihat alasan singkat klasifikasi beserta tingkat keyakinannya.
Klik tombol Summarize evidence di sebelah kanan meter untuk meminta Slate menulis
ringkasan bukti 200–350 kata yang merangkum paper berlabel supports/refutes/mixed, dengan
rujukan inline [P1], [P2], dst. Di dalam ringkasan, hover kutipan
[P#] untuk melihat penulis, tahun, dan judul, atau klik untuk scroll langsung ke kartu
paper-nya.
Catatan: klasifikasi sikap dilakukan otomatis oleh model dan tidak sempurna. Anggap Consensus Meter sebagai alat navigasi - panduan cepat untuk membaca pool hasil - bukan kesimpulan final. Selalu baca paper asli sebelum mengutip dalam tulisan formal.
Badge Kualitas Jurnal: SJR & Sinta
Kartu hasil Academic Search menampilkan badge kualitas jurnal di samping label sumber, dari dua sistem penilaian yang saling melengkapi:
- Q1–Q4 - kuartil SJR (SCImago Journal Rank) untuk jurnal internasional, dihitung dari data sitasi Scopus. Q1 berarti jurnal ada di 25% teratas bidangnya. Hover badge untuk melihat skor SJR dan H-index jurnal.
- Sinta 1–Sinta 6 - akreditasi nasional SINTA (Kemdiktisaintek) untuk jurnal Indonesia, Sinta 1 peringkat tertinggi. Hover untuk melihat bidang jurnal dan status terindeks Scopus. Berguna saat syarat referensi kampus ditulis dalam peringkat Sinta, misalnya "minimal Sinta 2".
Pencocokan lewat ISSN atau nama jurnal (untuk hasil Garuda: identitas jurnal Garuda). Kartu tanpa badge berarti jurnalnya tidak ditemukan di kedua indeks - belum tentu jurnalnya buruk; preprint seperti arXiv memang tidak terbit di jurnal. Badge tidak mengubah urutan hasil; urutan tetap berdasarkan relevansi. Data SJR diperbarui tahunan (SCImago), data Sinta disinkronkan berkala dari sinta.kemdiktisaintek.go.id.
Kuota & Batas Harian
Slate menerapkan dua kuota harian yang terpisah. Keduanya diperbarui pada tengah malam UTC.
- Sesi riset - memiliki kuota tersendiri berdasarkan kedalaman: Quick 8, Standard 5, dan Deep 3 per hari, sehingga Anda dapat menjalankan hingga 16 riset dalam satu hari. Kuota ini terpisah dari token chat dan tidak saling memengaruhi.
- Fitur Slate lainnya - tindak lanjut (follow-up), concept map, serta percakapan Slate Notebook menggunakan kuota token yang sama dengan isonai.net/chat.
Catatan. Berbeda dengan chat di isonai.net, Slate tidak beralih ke model yang lebih ringan ketika kuota habis. Apabila kuota token bersama telah terpakai seluruhnya, fitur-fitur tersebut akan dijeda hingga kuota diperbarui pada tengah malam UTC. Anda dapat memantau kedua kuota tersebut pada halaman Pengaturan.
Tips untuk Hasil Terbaik
- Spesifik - "Regulasi AI di sektor kesehatan Indonesia 2023-2025" lebih baik daripada "AI di kesehatan".
- Tambahkan sumber sendiri - unggah paper atau PDF yang sudah Anda miliki. Slate akan melakukan cross-reference.
- Bahasa: auto-detect + override - Slate menebak bahasa report dari topik (function words + nama tempat Indonesia). Pill Language aktif sesuai tebakan; klik untuk override kalau perlu (mis. topik berbentuk proper noun seperti "Raden Patah Heritage Hotel" yang ke-detect English tapi Anda butuh report Bahasa Indonesia).
- Gunakan Deep untuk skripsi atau tesis - pilih depth "Deep" untuk laporan yang lebih detail.
- Frasakan sebagai klaim untuk Consensus Meter - kalau ingin memanfaatkan meter dan ringkasan bukti, format pertanyaan sebagai pernyataan yang bisa dievaluasi ("Vitamin D efektif untuk imunitas") supaya classifier punya assertion yang jelas. Pertanyaan terbuka tanpa klaim cenderung kebanyakan masuk ke not relevant.
- Selalu verifikasi - periksa klaim kunci terhadap sumber asli sebelum dikutip dalam tulisan Anda.
Keterbatasan
- Slate tidak memiliki akses ke database berbayar seperti Scopus atau Web of Science. Gunakan Academic Search (OpenAlex mencakup 250 juta lebih karya ilmiah) atau unggah paper Anda sendiri.
- Laporan merupakan output AI - selalu verifikasi klaim kunci terhadap sumber asli sebelum dikutip dalam tulisan formal.
- Sebagian sumber web dilindungi paywall atau captcha; Slate mungkin tidak dapat mengakses konten penuh.
- Sitasi otomatis mungkin tidak sepenuhnya sesuai dengan style manual. Periksa format sebelum submission.
- Filter relevansi otomatis menyembunyikan paper dengan skor sangat rendah. Kalau topik lo niche atau pakai istilah teknis yang nggak common, coba reformulasi query - paper yang lo cari mungkin ke-filter karena lexical mismatch.
- Consensus Meter dan ringkasan bukti dihasilkan oleh model AI - label supports/refutes bukan ground truth. Pakai meter untuk membaca tren pool secara cepat, jangan dijadikan dasar kesimpulan tanpa membaca paper aslinya.
- Laporan untuk topik medis, hukum, atau finansial menyertakan disclaimer otomatis dan bukan nasihat profesional. Protokol klinis/hukum dapat berbeda antarinstitusi dan negara - konsultasikan dengan dokter, pengacara, atau perencana keuangan sebelum penerapan nyata.
Privasi & Data
- Riset Anda hanya dapat diakses oleh Anda, kecuali dibagikan melalui Share Link.
- Buka Settings (ikon akun di kanan atas) → Data & privacy untuk mengekspor seluruh data (Export as JSON), menghapusnya (Delete all my Slate data), atau melihat Audit log.
- Di halaman Settings Anda juga mengatur tema, bahasa riset default, dan alat riset standar (kedalaman, audiens, gaya sitasi). Pengaturan akun (nama, kata sandi) tetap dikelola di isonai.net.
What is Slate?
Ison Slate is a research workspace that produces comprehensive reports with citations from web and academic sources. Every claim is grounded to a verifiable source, so you can trace the report back to the original papers rather than just trusting the output.
For academic topics the report draws directly from indexed journals — arXiv, PubMed, OpenAlex, CrossRef, plus Indonesian journals via Garuda & SINTA — so its evidence is journal-backed, not just general web search. Citations resolve to a numbered reference list with a DOI where available.
Use it for: thesis or dissertation literature reviews, early-stage research before drafting a proposal, exploring an unfamiliar topic, multi-paper synthesis, market research, and policy due diligence.
Note. Slate is a research assistant, not a replacement for critical analysis. Always verify key claims against cited sources before using them in publications or decisions.
Starting Research
On the home page, type your research topic or question. The more specific, the better. Example: "Impact of P2P lending fintech regulation on financial inclusion in Indonesia 2020-2025"

Click the research button. Slate will: search web & journals → read & summarize sources → write a multi-section report → quality review. Progress is visible in the left panel.
Reading the Report
Inline Citations
Every major claim has an inline citation. Format depends on chosen style:

Click a citation to scroll to its bibliography entry.
For journal sources the bibliography entry shows the journal name + DOI (e.g. https://doi.org/10.xxxx) so it is directly traceable and ready to paste into a reference list. Every cited source appears in the numbered list, aligned with the [N] markers in the text.
Reading Modes
Three display modes in the header: Default (3-panel: outline + report + bibliography), Focus (text only, minimal distraction), Dense (compact for quick review).
Concept Map
Every report is automatically equipped with a concept map - a mind-map diagram visualizing relationships between key concepts in the report.
- Toggle - click the Concept Map button in the report header to open or close the panel.
- Pan and zoom - drag to pan, scroll to zoom in or out. Useful for large diagrams.
- Download SVG - the download button saves a vector version usable in slide decks or posters.
The concept map is useful for grasping the big-picture structure before reading the details, or for presenting research findings to a supervisor or team.
Slate Notebook
A separate mode at slate.isonai.net/notebook. Upload your own PDFs (papers, drafts, course materials, slides). Slate extracts text and figures, then you can ask questions in chat with answers that cite the exact page from sources you uploaded.
- Upload - drag-drop PDFs up to 50 MB. Slate extracts text and figures in approximately 15 seconds.
- Chat - streaming answers; click [1] citation chips for source preview.
- Cross-modal - your text query also searches figures and diagrams inside uploaded papers.
- Privacy - files isolated per user, scoped to your notebook only.
Difference from main research: Notebook does not search for new papers on the internet. It only answers from the PDFs you upload. Best suited for re-examining material you already have, or for in-depth discussion of a single paper.
Library & History
All research you have run is automatically saved in the Library. Access it from the left menu.
- Search - the search box at the top of the Library searches by title and report content.
- Filter - filter by Collection.
- Deep link - each report has a permanent URL of the form
/research/r_xxxxx. Bookmark or share the URL directly. - Note - do not close the tab while a research run is in progress. If an error occurs, partial output is saved to the Library automatically.

Export Formats
- Export .md - Markdown with citations and bibliography, suitable for blog, Notion, or Obsidian.
- Export .pdf - formatted PDF for print or submission.
- Export .bib - BibTeX for LaTeX, Overleaf, Zotero, or Mendeley.
- Copy - copies the report to the clipboard as Markdown.
Collections
Organize your research into collections (folders). Create one from the Library page or assign from the report header. Each collection can be given a name and color. Examples: "Thesis Chapter 2", "Market Research 2026", or "Reading List".
Share Link
Click the Share button in the report header to create a public read-only link. Anyone with the link can read the report without logging in. Click the same button to revoke access at any time. Links are rate-limited to prevent abuse.

Academic Search runs in parallel against 10 scholarly indexes:
- OpenAlex - 250M+ scholarly works, all disciplines (free, open)
- PubMed and Europe PMC - Biomedical, medicine, life sciences (Europe PMC covers preprints and theses too)
- arXiv - Physics, CS, math, AI (preprints)
- Semantic Scholar - Multidisciplinary, ranked by citation count
- CrossRef - Peer-reviewed journals via DOI
- DOAJ - Open access journal aggregator
- BASE - 240M+ documents from institutional repositories (strong on Indonesian content)
- Garuda - Garba Rujukan Digital (Kemdiktisaintek), 5.1M+ Indonesian academic articles (local journals without DOI)
- BPS - Official Indonesian statistics (Badan Pusat Statistik)
The merged pool is passed through a neural reranker - papers are reordered by relevance to your topic, and items scoring below 1% are auto-hidden so what you see is actually related. Choose depth: Quick (1 query, approximately 25 sources feed the report), Standard (3 sub-queries, approximately 40 sources), or Deep (5 sub-queries, approximately 60 sources, maximum breadth).
If your question is phrased casually or in Indonesian, Slate also searches an academic phrasing of it - the "Mencari:" chip above the results shows the phrase used. Your original query is always searched as-is too. If results look off, check that chip: it shows how Slate read your question - rephrase if the interpretation missed.
Consensus Meter & Summarize Evidence
Every Academic Search run, Slate automatically analyzes the top 17 papers and shows a Consensus Meter above the result list. Each paper receives a stance label toward your question:
- Supports — findings strengthen the claim or effect in question.
- Refutes — findings weaken the claim or find no effect.
- Mixed — results depend on conditions, dosing, subgroups, or context.
- Not relevant — paper covers a different topic and offers no evidence for the question.
Hover the badge on each card to see a brief classification rationale with confidence percent.
Click Summarize evidence next to the meter to have Slate write a 200–350 word
evidence summary that consolidates the supports/refutes/mixed papers, citing them inline as
[P1], [P2], etc. Inside the summary, hover any [P#] citation
to see author, year, and title, or click to scroll directly to that paper card.
Note: stance classification is performed automatically by a model and is not perfect. Treat the Consensus Meter as a navigation aid - a quick read on the result pool - not a final verdict. Always read the original paper before citing in formal writing.
Journal Quality Badges: SJR & Sinta
Academic Search result cards carry a journal quality badge next to the source label, drawn from two complementary rating systems:
- Q1–Q4 - the SJR (SCImago Journal Rank) quartile for international journals, computed from Scopus citation data. Q1 means the journal sits in the top 25% of its field. Hover the badge for the journal's SJR score and H-index.
- Sinta 1–Sinta 6 - the national SINTA accreditation (Kemdiktisaintek) for Indonesian journals, Sinta 1 being the highest grade. Hover to see the journal's subject area and whether it is also Scopus-indexed. Handy when a reference requirement is phrased in Sinta grades, e.g. "minimum Sinta 2".
Matching uses ISSN or journal title (for Garuda results: the Garuda journal identity). A card without a badge means the journal was not found in either index - not necessarily a bad journal; preprints such as arXiv simply have no journal. Badges never change result order; ranking stays relevance-based. SJR data refreshes yearly (SCImago); Sinta data is synced periodically from sinta.kemdiktisaintek.go.id.
Quota & Daily Limits
Slate has two separate daily quotas. Both reset at midnight UTC.
- Research runs - have their own quota by depth: Quick 8, Standard 5, and Deep 3 per day, so you can run up to 16 in a single day. This quota is separate from your chat tokens.
- Other Slate features - follow-ups, the concept map, and Slate Notebook chat draw from the same token budget as isonai.net/chat.
Note. Unlike chat on isonai.net, Slate does not fall back to a lighter model when a quota runs out. Once the shared token budget is spent, those features pause until the quota resets at midnight UTC. You can track both quotas on the Settings page.
Tips for Best Results
- Be specific - "AI regulation in Indonesian healthcare 2023-2025" beats "AI in health".
- Add your own sources - upload papers or PDFs you already have. Slate will cross-reference them.
- Language: auto-detect + override - Slate guesses the report language from your topic (function words + Indonesian place names). The Language pill reflects the guess; click to override when needed (e.g., a proper-noun topic like "Raden Patah Heritage Hotel" detects as English but you want the report in Bahasa Indonesia).
- Use Deep for theses - choose "Deep" depth for more detailed reports.
- Phrase as a claim for the Consensus Meter - if you want the meter and evidence summary to be useful, frame the question as an evaluable statement ("Vitamin D is effective for immunity") so the classifier has a clear assertion to test against. Open-ended questions without a claim tend to land most papers in not relevant.
- Always verify - check key claims against the original sources before citing in your paper.
Limitations
- Slate does not have access to paid databases such as Scopus or Web of Science. Use Academic Search (OpenAlex covers 250M+ scholarly works) or upload papers yourself.
- Reports are AI-generated - always verify key claims against the cited sources before quoting them in formal writing.

- Automatic citations may not be 100% style-compliant. Check formatting before submission.
- The automatic relevance filter hides papers with very low scores. If your topic is niche or uses uncommon technical terms, try rephrasing the query - the paper you want might be filtered out due to lexical mismatch.
- The Consensus Meter and evidence summary are generated by an AI model - supports/refutes labels are not ground truth. Use the meter to skim trends across the pool, but do not draw conclusions without reading the original papers.
- Reports on medical, legal, or financial topics carry an automatic disclaimer and are not professional advice. Clinical/legal protocols vary by institution and country - consult a doctor, lawyer, or financial planner before any real-world use.
Privacy & Data
- Your research is only accessible to you, unless shared via a Share Link.
- Open Settings (account icon, top-right) → Data & privacy to export all data (Export as JSON), delete it (Delete all my Slate data), or view the Audit log.
- The Settings page is also where you set the theme, default research language, and standard research tools (depth, audience, citation style). Account settings (name, password) stay managed at isonai.net.
